Zombie driver – what is it?

Zombie Driver is a great 2D action game. Have you ever imagined in driving in a zombie infested town? Well, Zombie Driver actually offers exactly that experience. Zombie Driver was developed in 2009 by Exor Studios which is a company based in Poland. Zombie Driver is classified as indie game (independent developers) which means that you do not pay sixty dollars for a game. Instead, you pay like tenner or so.

Weapons of Zombie Driver

Zombie Driver features four different weapons – Machine Gun, Flame-thrower, Rocket Launcher and plasma gun. Best of course is Plasma gun because it is the most expensive and the hardest to unlock. However, for me personally, flame-thrower is the best especially unlocked the 3rd level. You can use this weapons and burn zombies down very easily. The Machine gun is not too bad especially at third level. It lets you shoot much more often and it basically kill zombies very fast but the control of a gun is not that simple. It is not like you can control the weapon but still, I think nothing beats the flame-thrower because if you do it correctly, you just push the fire button and zombies won’t come near you.

Zombie Driver cars

There are 7 vehicles in Zombie Driver – Taxi, Sports car, Ambulance, Police car, Bus, Limo and secret military car. For me, Bus is the best. It is slow vehicle but its ramming and armor is so high that you hardly feel anything when you get swarmed by zombies. You start off with the taxi. It is an average vehicle with average stats. The sports car is fast but it is very indurable – low armor and ramming so it gets crashed quickly because of inability to control such a fast car … The ambulance is pretty strong but I don’t like it for no apparent reason … Police car is not as fast as sports car but stronger than that.

Zombie Driver Missions andQuests

There are 17 main missions in Zombie Driver and a bit more side missions which have great rewards. By completing missions you can unlock vehicles, weapons and city. Yes, every four mission will unlock quarter of the city. By completing side missions you can unlock vehicles and weapons also but more importantly – money. Extra cash will never hurt in Zombie Driver as you need to upgrade your vehicles.

Zombie Driver Blood Race update

Exor studios recently updated Zombie Driver with Blood Race update which allows people play Zombie Driver online! Yes, that is amazing thing that finally this awesome game can be played with friends either via Steam or LAN. The main features of Zombie Driver Blood Race are:

  • New muscle car
  • New station map
  • All cars gain second paint
  • Many fixes
  • Blood Race mode where you can play online

I really enjoyed this update. It was probably the best Zombie Driver update ever released.

Zombie Driver Upgrades

In Zombie Driver, you can upgrade weapons and vehicles. Each vehicle has its own stats so you will need to upgrade them separately. Each weapon can be unlocked to level 3 and each stat can be unlocked up to level 7 I believe. It is really great thing in Zombie Driver. Ram allows you to do more damage in Zombie Driver. Yes, that’s how the offensive power is called in the game. Armour is like your shield. It makes you get less damage from zombies or destructible. And obviously we need speed which does what it says – it makes your vehicle much faster.

Zombie Driver Graphics

Graphics in Zombie Driver is 2D. Yes, 2D graphics but still, graphics are amazing. I really was impressed with the effect of Zombie Driver. All explosions and sound makes it so awesome … I really love the graphics. Vehicles and the whole city is nicely designed. It gives a feeling that you are in real apocalypse-themed city with thousands of zombies waiting for you …

Zombie Driver Sound

As I mention earlier, Zombie Driver contains amazing sounds which also helps you to feel as if you were in real apocalypse. Sounds from explosions, weapons or when zombies make sound it gives such a nice feeling. The developers did really nice job on that.

Last words about Zombie Driver

In conclusion I would like to say that Zombie Driver is real masterpiece. I really enjoyed the game and I felt like ten bucks was not a problem at all. There is one drawback though, it is very short. I believe I completed Zombie Driver in about 5 hours or so. Obviously, it would take that long to finish the Zombie Driver because I wasn’t experienced at all and I died many times.
